United Way of Southwestern Oregon is excited to announce our “2024 Day of Caring” – community volunteers helping local homeowners in need of assistance with basic yardwork. This one-day annual event organizes local volunteers to help seniors, veterans, folks with disabilities, resource (foster) families, and others in need of help with small yardwork tasks. Volunteers will help mow lawns, clear weeds, stack firewood, plant flowers/vegetables, and help with other yard chores. WHEN: Saturday, May 18 (8:30am-1pm) WHERE: Meet at Chetco Community Public Library (auxiliary parking lot) for yardwork assignments Teams are invited to sign up for this group-friendly, family-friendly community service event. Volunteers are assigned based on client requests. Volunteers provide their own transportation and lawncare tools. Please note that requests for yardwork assistance will be prioritized based on need and volunteer availability.
