A special festival pre-screening of the crime thriller Art Thief at the Redwood Theater. A one-night-only event! Cap off your Azalea Festival celebrations and Memorial Day weekend with a night at the movies! Funds raised through this preseason event will go to support the Wild Rivers Film Festival's first-ever summer filmmaking workshop for area youth. About the film: After stealing a painting from a local museum, a passionate but untalented artist is thrust into the midst of an even bigger art theft. The story behind Art Thief was inspired by the real 1990 robbery of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston--the world's largest property theft! This thriller, starring Max Deacon and Jacqueline Emerson (of The Hunger Games) screened on the opening night of the 2023 Orlando Film Festival, and will be playing soon at the Boston International Film Festival.
