A free monthly film screening for the community, our Afternoon Indie Film events will frequently feature top film selections from the Wild Rivers Film Festival and films of special state or local significance. June's Film Selection: Burst the Silence (2023), a musical memoir directed by Eric Schaeffer. Burst the Silence is a powerful true story about an aging father, burdened by a long-held secret, and the son who helps him confront the past. As they navigate memory, loss, and reconciliation, a shared musical gift uncovers the one story the father was never able to tell. Adapted from the Tony Award-winning Signature Theatre's 2018 stage production, this film is a moving exploration of truth, forgiveness, and the enduring bonds of family.
